Rules:
1. Warning: Once an infraction is committed, the student will receive a verbal warning
from the teacher that reminds the student what is expected of him/her.
2. Sign your card: If the undesired behavior repeats itself, the teacher will sign
the student card. Every student has a card that could be signed for different
infractions. If the student has five signatures in one quarter, that constitutes an immediate suspension.
3. Call to the parents: If the behavior persists, the parents of the student will be
contacted and be notified of this behavior. They will be aware that the
student’s card has been signed and what this means in the school behavior book.
4. Conference with parents: If the student’s behavior continues to re-occur. The parents
will participate in a formal meeting with the teacher and the principal. The student’s behavior will be address and a plan of action will take place.
5. Office Referral: If the student gets an office referral after all the previous
steps have been exhausted, this will mean an immediate suspension and the amount
of days will be determined by the principal. Hopefully, nothing will get to this
extreme.
- Arrive on time and be prepared to learn: As soon as each student enters the
classroom, they should be prepared with needed materials, as well as a
positive attitude towards learning the day’s lesson. Every student is
expected to be attentive to the teacher as soon as the bell rings and is
required to bring their textbook to class everyday. - Follow instructions the first time given: To ensure the quality of instruction,
it is necessary for students to be attentive to what the teacher requires
from them. Following instructions is mandatory in order to achieve success
in this class and in the subject area. - Help support a positive learning environment: To support a positive learning
environment all disruptions need to be addressed and eliminated as soon as
they are presented. Examples of these disruptions are: talking, getting up
from your seta without permission, making noises, interrupting the
designated speaker, eating gum, chewing or drinking anything during class. - Treat every individual with courtesy and respect: It is important to
understand that we don’t have to be friends with everyone but we need to
respect everyone. To maintain a harmonious environment in classroom, it is
mandatory for each student to be courteous and polite to each and every
member of our little family. Examples of politeness are: saying please,
thank you, good morning, and good afternoon. - Follow all established procedures: There is a procedure to be followed in each
situation presented in the classroom. There is a procedure on how to take
tests, how to behave in the classroom, on how to address the teacher and
classmates. It is necessary for each student to pay close attention to the
procedures explained in class in order not to break them.
